Field News as of 08/08/08:
Our homegrown tomatoes (vine ripe, heirloom, grape, and roma) are at peak harvest. Melons are in from our
fields and varieties include regular seedles, seeded, yellow seedless, seedless Sugar Babies, canteloupes, Sprite and Crenshaw
melons. Huge specials on tomatoes and melons. We are picking and shelling our butterbeans daily and also have summer squashes,
potatoes (Yellow Gold, New, and fingerling), and peppers. We carefully select peaches from the best orchards and this weekend,
the first ones from the north will arrive where the cool nights improve their flavor. As for corn, we are cutting a new sweet
white variety. Please come give it a try and let us know if you think it is as good as we do.
About Us:
The Cullipher family has been growing fresh fruits and vegetables in Pungo for decades. Over the years, we have supplied local
stores, roadside stands and restaurants with homegrown produce which we are now offering directly to you. We are a
family farm operated by the fourth and fifth generations with the sixth in training. We use Integrated Pest Management which
includes a minimum usage of pesticides applied based on field sampling and number of pests found. Our family eats the same
high quality food that we have available at our farm market.
